What are the maintenance procedures and costs involved with steel rule dies?

A.

It is important that the dies be maintained to continue to provide the best quality cut.  If you are noticing wear on your rule or punches it is imperative that you have those replaced or have a new die built.  Steel rule and punched can easily be replaced; although in some cases in is more cost effective to replace the die itself.  In either case, cost and turn around time are usually a fraction of other tooling methods.

What are the advantages of using a steel rule die?

There are many methods of cutting out materials.  Using a steel rule die is one of the most cost effective and precise methods for cutting parts.  This option is often a far better method due to the large margin in cost savings and also the consistent quality provided.

What are seal tools used for?

A.

Seal tools are made to seal various materials such as cards, blisters and plastic to plastic.  Seal tools are constructed from dieboard, UHMW or aluminum depending upon the application they are being used for.  The sealing gaskets are made from either cork, cork/silicone or silicone.

Are there any materials that your laser can not cut?

Yes, metals that are over 1/4", aluminum and thicker stainless steel.
